Sonder Spirals Collection

2025-present

The Sonder Spirals Collection is built around the symbol of the spiral — a shape I began noticing everywhere. Spirals echo the golden ratio, appear in nature, and carry deep spiritual resonance. To me, they became a metaphor for the rhythms of our lives.

I have seen people spiral downward, and I have known that pain myself. I also know the effort and grace it takes to spiral upward — to grow, to rise, and to move toward light. At the center of these movements is God, who remains constant no matter where we find ourselves.

This collection explores the balance between descent and ascent, struggle and renewal. Through layers of color, motion, and form, the works speak to the beauty that can emerge from hardship, the lessons we carry forward, and the faith that grounds us. The spirals remind us that life is not linear, but through every turn there is opportunity to learn, heal, and draw closer to God.

Butterfly Collection 2020-2025

The Butterfly Collection began in the leap year of 2020, during a season of uncertainty and emotional upheaval. I turned to texture, movement, and subconscious painting as a way to process what I was experiencing. At first, the collection remained unfinished — a reflection of the turmoil of that moment in time.

Later, I chose to return to the work with renewed intention. I challenged myself to look inward and tell a story, one that wove together my own journey and the perspectives of my daughter and the young women of today. Fascinated by their self-perception and their embrace of “selfie culture,” I wanted these paintings to serve as mirrors — not of vanity, but of recognition, resilience, and the beauty that lies within.

Through a versatile blend of media, I blur the boundaries between nature and realism. Butterflies, flowers, and symbolic textures flow through the collection, inviting viewers to contemplate their own journeys of self-perception. Each piece is a reminder that beauty is not only something we seek in the world, but something we carry within us, illuminated by faith and self-discovery.

Unveiling My Art

Artist Statement

"Creating art is an act of surrender--each brushstroke a whisper of intuition, flowing freely without restraint. What begins in disorder gradually reveals its own rhythm, telling stories of hardship, healing, and the quiet power of hope. In this process, I seek beauty in life's imperfections and honor the sacred moments of grace that God places along the way."
